Progress High School S.W.A.G. Program

On Sept 5th, 2017, Progress HS held its Student Recruitment during the 9th Grade Student Orientation. The CHCF Youth Development Program Associate (YDPA) was able to engage and share information about the program with potential students. YDPA was also able to meet with parents and speak with them about the goals of the program and how the program serves Progress HS Students.

Progress HS also held their Young Scholars Program Kickstarter (YSP) Info Session on October 5th, 2017. With approximately 50+ 9th grade students in attendance, students were informed about the program and its goals. Thank you to Marian Avila and Natalie Ayala, former scholars, who attended and spoke about their experience with the program.
The Young Scholars Program has also undergone some transformation. Now known as the “S.W.A.G.” (Scholars. With. A. Goal.) program, the name change closely reflects what students will be working on throughout their high school career. Besides from being a more “hip” name, the change is expected to draw a bridge between the students and the school.
