For more information about this service please call our parent counselors at 212-206-1090, at any time, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. All calls will be returned by a parent counselor within one business day. At 17%, New York was found to have the highest percentage of low-income children in family child care (care provided by a non-relative in his or her home).(1) This type of care presents risks, since many home-based providers are not registered or regulated by state or city agencies. CHCF is committed to promoting competent, quality child care and job development by providing training in Spanish and assisting Latina caregivers to become registered Family Day Care (FDC) providers in order to increase the number of quality caregivers and to promote licensing and regulation.
