CHCF Latin Legacy Culinary Competition 2012
|
| |
| CHCF hosted the final round of its 6th Annual "Latin Legacy Culinary Competition" on February 22, 2012 at the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE). Three high school students from the Bronx competed in a cook-off for a partial scholarship to ICE. The winner of the competition was Katherine Cruz. Her prize-winning creation was "Stuffed shells with chicken, arugula,
and creamy Alfredo sauce." Katherine was a runner-up in our 2011 cook-off and we're so happy she applied for the competition again. |
| |
| CHCF would like to thank Rick Smilow, President, and Andrew Gold, Director of Student Affairs, of The Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) for making this event possible and for generously contributing a partial scholarship to the competition winner. |
| |
| We would also like to thank our wonderful guest judges: Evette Rios, Correspondent for ABC’s The Chew; Jacques Gautier, Chef at Palo Santo in Brooklyn; and Denise Oller, a journalist, chef, community leader, a Food and Nutrition Expert for AARP’s food channel, “Aarp’s cocina y nutricion,“ and Executive Director for The Joseph A. Unanue Institute for Latin Studies at Seton Hall University. |
