Outreach Coordinator
Description:
The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families (CHCF) seeks a dynamic, extremely organized Outreach Coordinator to oversee all aspects of outreach to increase the visibility and exposure of Child Care Services programs at CHCF. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Identify resources that will enhance the visibility and increase exposure of CHCF’s Child Care Services Program and Child Care Resource and Referral services.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of promotional materials in order to highlight the services and achievements of CHCF’s Child Care Services Program.
- Develop collaborations with agencies and community partners to enhance outreach and foster support for CHCF’s Child Care Services Program.
- Plan and coordinate the strategic outreach activities of the Child Care Services Program to increase awareness and funding.
- Attend and represent CHCF at community events and other functions to promote services, including presentations to educate the community and other stakeholders about the issues facing Latino children and families.
- Assist CHCF’s Child Care Intake and Referral Specialists with inquiries from parents and child care providers regarding our services and make child care referrals.
- Work with CHCF’s Child Care Services staff and Director to assess and evaluate the impact of CHCF’s outreach efforts.
- Track and maintain database of CHCF’s outreach contacts and events.
- Work with CHCF’s Development department and executive staff to plan special events that lead to publicity and promotion of CHCF’s Child Care Services Program, such as CHCF’s Annual Health & Community Resource Fair.
Additional Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a social service-related field or 3 years experience in volunteer coordination and/or social services.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience working within a social services setting.
- Prior experience in developing and implementing outreach campaigns—including solid experience working with Latino groups and audiences preferred.
- The equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
- The successful candidate should be an energetic, motivated, self starter who is able to multi-task and take initiative in identifying creative strategies.
- Must posses excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong listening and public speaking skills.
- Must have strong leadership background.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office
required.
- Must possess excellent organizational, inter-personal and language skills.
- Fluency in Spanish and English required.
- Must be creative and work well independently and as a member of a team.
- Must be willing to travel throughout NYC.
