- On June 24, 2008, the Latino Coalition for Early Care and Education, a policy initiative of CHCF, held the Latino/ELL Forum on Early Care and Education. The event convened national experts, local and state government officials, advocates, and over 100 professionals in the field to discuss the needs of Latino and English Language Learner children in the early care and education system.

- CHCF After-school featured in Mi Zona Hispana.

- CHCF was named NY1's "NYer of the Week" for its dedication and service to the Latino community.  This honor is awarded to organizations and individuals giving back to the New York City
community.  As part of NY1's salute to Hispanic Heritage Month,
CHCF was featured several times during NY1 News broadcasts.

- CHCF received a $40,000 grant for a Healthy Living Summer Program at MS 391 in the Bronx.  This program will combine nutrition, exercise, and stress-relief techniques to equip Latino families with skills and tools they can use to prevent or combat obesity. Click here for more information. 

- CHCF was featured in Contribute Magazine's September/October "Measuring Up" section.

- CHCF released its latest report Bridging the Cultural Divide: Building a Continuum of Support Services for Latino Families during a press conference at City Hall on June 5, 2007.

- Elba Montalvo Named One of "20 New Yorkers Who Have Made The City A Great Place To Raise Children" by New York Family Magazine.

- Helena Yordan, CHCF After-school Program at PS/MS 279 Site Coordinator, featured in the Daily News' Big Town, Big Heart: New Yorkers Who Make A Difference.

- The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families Receives Grant to Support Pre-Natal Care

- The Committee for Hispanic Children and Families After School Program at PS/MS 279 Hosts Opening Ceremony for Masters of Literacy Program
